CCNY/MSKCC Partnership program is offering a new research opportunity in emerging technology for undergraduate juniors and seniors for one year. This opportunity will provide funding for Research Training in Molecular imaging with a focus on nanotechnology. Students will be trained in the department of Radiology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Each student will be provided a research stipend and opportunity to attend a scientific conference and must fulfill program requirements.
Students will work with one (or more) of the four mentors listed below:
1. Dr. Jason Lewis, PhD, Chief, Radiochemistry Service, Director, Cyclotron Core and Associate Vice Chair for Research.
Research focused: The development of new PET radiopharmaceuticals for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
2. Dr. Vladimir Ponomarev, MD, PhD, Assistant Member.
Research focused: The development of new reporter genetic systems for specific applications, such as sequential in-vivo imaging studies in cancer biology, cancer immunotherapy and radiation sciences.
3. Dr. Michelle Bradbury, MD, PhD, Assistant Attending.
Research focused: Multimodal Core-Shell Silica-based Nanoparticle platforms (“C dots”)
4. Dr. Jan Grimm, MD, PhD, Assistant Attending and Assistant Member.
Research focused: The development of new imaging approaches with targeted and activatable agents, many of them bases on nanoparticles.
