Postdoctoral Research Associate - University of Nebraska Medical Center

A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available immediately in the

Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology at the University of

Nebraska Medical Center to participate in cardiovascular/respiratory

research, which encompasses the function and electrophysiology of autonomic

neurons. Emphasis is placed on the study of altered functionality of chemo-

and baro-sensory neurons and central control of sympathetic and

parasympathetic nerve activity in disease states such as heart failure,

hypertension, and diabetes using both animal models and neuronal cell lines.

The successful applicant will become part of a rich and collaborative

training program and will be expected to master modern cellular, molecular,

electrophysiological and integrative approaches to address questions related

this area of research. Although outstanding candidates in all areas of

physiology will be considered, special consideration will be given to

individuals who have previous experience with

patch-clamp techniques and/or experience in one or more of the research

approaches described herein.
